TSM Windcat's new CTV enters the fleet
The joint venture TSM Windcat has delivered its second fast personnel carrier, the TSM Windcat 52, to the port of Lézardrieux (temporary base for the construction of the Saint-Brieuc wind farm developed by Ailes Marines, a subsidiary ofIberdrola).
It will be ready to operate on the Saint-Brieuc wind farm, for the resumption of work, as part of the Ailes Marinesproject.
Thomas Services Maritime, a French shipping company, has created a structure with the cooperation of Windcat Workboats, a Dutch company specialising in offshore wind service vessels.
The Windcat Mk 3.5 are aluminium hull and wheelhouse catamarans with a carbon fibre composite cabin.
With a cruising speed of 25 knots, the TSM Windcat 52 can reach a top speed of 31 knots with two 750kW MAN diesel engines.
The vessel is 24 metres long and 7.3 metres wide. It can accommodate 26 people in a cabin with 26 seats. It has a deck area of 51m² at the front (and 11 m² at the stern) with a carrying capacity of up to 10 tons.
