The 2021 inter-array cable route pre-trenching campaign is complete
The 2021 pre-trenching campaign for inter-array cable roads carried out by the ship Aethra chartered by the company Prysmian ends 5 weeks ahead of the initially announced schedule.
The vessel Aethra successfully carried out all the pre-trenching operations planned in the northern area for the first phase of the 2021 works. The vessel was also able to carry out preparatory operations concerning the 2022 sequence of works, also located in the North part.
The Aethra is leaving today the bay of Saint-Brieuc for its home port. It will be back in the Saint-Brieuc park installation area in 2022 for the resumption of the second construction campaign.
In order to allow fishing activities in the park, Ailes Marines has set itself an ambitious objective to bury up to 100% of the inter-wind turbine cables (90 km of cables) in the park, subject to numerous technical constraints. This objective follows numerous discussions with the CDPMEM22, the Maritime Prefecture and the Côtes-d'Armor Prefecture. The wiring plan was validated by the Côtes-d'Armor prefect and the maritime prefect on March 24, 2021 in order to guarantee maximum maritime safety for future users of the park's sea.
Drilling work only concentrated on the northern zone of the park in 2021
Ailes Marines once again reminds us that drilling and pile installation operations are focused only on the northern part of the park, , in order to allow fishing activities to continue in the southern part.
As discussed during the consultation meeting on August 3 with CDPMEM22 and the Maritime Prefecture, Ailes Marines wished to continue drilling on three new positions also located to the north of the electrical substation (which delimits the two installation zones north and south of the park). This request was transcribed in the prefectural decree regulating uses in the area by the Maritime Prefecture. The Aeolus drilling vessel has positioned itself on these new locations.
A project designed to allow fishing activities to continue
Ailes Marines once again reminds us once again that the project was designed to allow fishing and navigation activities to be maintained within the park (orientation of wind turbine lines, spacing between wind turbines, burial of cables, etc.). The offshore wind farm occupies an area limited to 6% on the Large deposit, or the equivalent of 1.5% of the production of scallops in the entire Bay. The Côtes d ́Armor Prefecture has put in place clear governance through a management and monitoring committee chaired by the Côtes d ́Armor prefect to monitor the progress of the work and the follow-up measures undertaken.
