Offshore wind farm in the Bay of Saint-Brieuc

Progress of the work at mid-term

Since the start of construction of the park in 2021, there have been numerous installation steps. The collaboration of several key players has ensured that deadlines are met and that massive pieces, such as the jackets foundations, are carefully transported to the park's location.
As we approach the delivery of the project scheduled for 2023, we take a look at the latest major advances in the project.

Retrospective

Launched in 2021, the installation of the park is gradually taking shape.

During this first year of work, operations focused on site preparation with, in particular, pre-trenching (planned to receive the electrical cable later) and the first drilling activities.

The objective of the 2022 campaign is to continue this drilling work and to install the first visible and non-visible elements of the wind farm: the first "jacket" foundations, the electrical substation and the first circuit lines.

Key steps

Installation of piles and drilling work

The drilling work has progressed efficiently.
To date, a total of 33 wind turbine sites out of 62 have been completed, in addition to the one reserved for the electrical substation. With this significant progress, more than half of the drilling work has been completed.

Installation of jacket foundations

The year 2022 marked the start of the installation of the jacket foundations. This stage was successfully completed, with a total of 24 jackets foundations installed. The remaining 38 jackets foundations will be installed during 2023.

Cable installation

The laying of the circuit lines (S2, S3 and S4), with the jackets foundations installed, has been successfully completed. This is a particularly important step towards the commissioning of the park.

The first two foundations of the S1 circuit line have been started.

Installation of the electrical substation

A central element in the operation of the offshore wind farm, the electrical substation was successfully installed on July 6, 2022.

The next steps

By 2023, key milestones remain to be achieved before the park can be commissioned.

Among them:

  • Finalization of the drilling work
  • The finalization of the installation of the S1 circuit line but also the installation of the S5, S6, S7 and S8 circuit lines.
  • The installation of the 38 other "jacket" type foundations.
  • The installation of wind turbines from the first half of the year.
