On Friday, October 10, 2025, the prefect of Côtes-d'Armor, representatives of the Loire-Bretagne water agency and of the company Iberdrola, operator of the Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm, signed an agreement aimed at implementing measures to contribute to the management of protected areas located around the Saint-Brieuc Bay wind farm.
Iberdrola, through its subsidiary Ailes Marines, and the Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique today announce the launch of a new Call for Expressions of Interest (AMI) dedicated to the security and maritime surveillance of offshore wind farms.
The IBReizh program selects 3 innovative projects to receive funding, as part of its agreement between the Côtes d'Armor Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Ailes Marines, a subsidiary of Iberdrola.
Iberdrola France and the Brittany Region organized a guided tour of the
offshore wind farm for engineering students from ENSTA (
Brest campus) and students from the Pierre Loti Maritime High School in Paimpol. The wind farm,
consisting of 62 turbines, was commissioned in May 2024 and officially opened on
September 19th. Its capacity is equivalent to the
annual electricity consumption of 835,000 people.
The Côtes-d'Armor operations and maintenance (O&M) center's mission is to control the park's electrical production and coordinate maintenance activities.
On October 7 and 8, 2024, the Atlantic Maritime Prefecture, in conjunction with the operator Ailes Marines, a subsidiary of Iberdrola, trained all of its teams to assist a vessel in distress and then to combat accidental marine pollution within the Saint-Brieuc Bay offshore wind farm.
