March
Continuation of drilling and installation of jacket foundations
The AEOLUS vessel from the Van Oord company has been back in the park area since March 27, 2023, resuming drilling and pile sealing work on the 22 undrilled wind turbine positions.
Furthermore, in the coming months, installation operations will resume on the 38 jacket foundations still to be installed.
These two campaigns take place over several months and depending on weather conditions.
Installation of 62 8 MW wind turbines
The first 8 MW wind turbines will be installed on their foundations in the middle of the year. They will be assembled line by line.
The installation of the 62 wind turbines (masts, nacelles, blades) will be carried out by the company Siemens Gamesa using the Brave Tern jack-up platform from the Norwegian company Fred Olsen windcarrier.
The sections of the masts of the 62 wind turbines previously equipped by Haizea Breizh in Brest will be transported to the port of Le Havre to be assembled there in 3 dimensions. For each rotation from Le Havre to the Saint-Brieuc park site, the Brave Tern will carry 4 masts, 4 nacelles and 12 blades. He will install them on the jacket foundations of the wind turbines.
Depending on weather conditions, their commissioning will be gradual from the second half of the year.
Operations managed from the maritime coordination center
These operations are managed from the Ailes Marines maritime coordination center located in Kerantour and in the port of Lézardrieux (22). They will mobilize up to thirty ships for several months.
In order to inform residents and in particular users of the sea, Ailes Marines has opened an online information space* dedicated to maritime work. It presents the nature and organization of the work, as well as information concerning navigation, in addition to the orders of the Maritime Prefecture.
Burial of inter-wind turbine cables
The campaign to bury inter-wind turbine cables began in January. The Prysmian company in charge of supplying and burying the cables is continuing the work of laying the 90 km of inter-wind turbine cables. Currently, 3 vessels are mobilized for these operations: the Aethra which carries out the trenches, the Ariadne for the installation and removal of the cable at the bottom of the trench and the Island Diligence for its burial. The burial campaign takes place over several months depending on weather conditions.
