In 2020, the production of just under 4,000 gigawatt-hours (GWh) made it possible to cover 15.5% of the electricity consumption in the Brittany region. The Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm is a major renewable energy production project supported by the State. This project is part of the national energy transition policy applied by the various successive governments since 2011.
The Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm will produce 1,820 GWh annually, which corresponds to the annual domestic electricity consumption of 835,000 inhabitants (heating included), or a quarter of the inhabitants of Brittany. The Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm alone will produce 9% of the electricity consumption of the Brittany region.
● Reminder of the IFOP survey methodology
The IFOP study was carried out on a sample of 1,000 people, representative of the population living in Brittany and Loire-Atlantique, i.e. 200 people aged 18 and over interviewed per department.
For Côtes- d'Armor, an additional sample of 301 people was added , representative of the population, aged 18 and over, i.e. 501 people interviewed in total in the department.
The representativeness of the samples was ensured by the quota method (sex, age, profession of the person interviewed) after stratification by department and category of agglomeration.
The interviews of the main sample were carried out via the Internet from December 10 to 18, 2020. The interviews of the Côtes – d'Armor sample were carried out by telephone from December 18 to 21, 2020.
For 80 years, IFOP has been the reference in surveys and market studies. Its approach is based on the combination of perspectives: sectoral expert perspective, business perspective, prospective perspective and international vision. Its activity is structured around the historic Opinion division as well as its sectoral marketing expertise.
