Retrospective

The companies SPIE and Haizea Breizh are working together to assemble the wind turbine masts for the Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm.

The Industry division of SPIE Industrie & Tertiaire and Haizea Breizh (subsidiary of Haizea Wind Group) have signed a collaboration agreement for the creation of a new industrial activity in the Brest polder . The mission is dedicated to the assembly of the internal elements of the 62 masts of the Saint Brieuc offshore park, developed by Ailes Marines , a subsidiary of Iberdrola . Suitable for heavy packages of several hundred tonnes, the new EMR quay at the port of Brest is one of the major assets of the place, because it has the capacity to respond to the industrial challenges of marine energies and adapts to industrial dynamics , in constant progress.

Founded in 2021, the company Haizea Breizh settled in the port of Brest the same year following the partnership established with Siemens Gamesa . Haizea Breizh is the most recent factory of the Spanish industrialist Haizea Wind Group.

Specializing in the assembly of internal components , it inaugurated its workshop – operational since the end of summer 2022 – this Thursday, October 6.

The manufacture of the masts will begin in Bilbao in Spain, where the boilermaking and painting operations will be carried out. Then, the masts will be transported to the Brest polder, where the internal elements will be assembled in the Haizea Breizh workshop . These will then be shipped to Le Havre, to the Siemens Gamesa factory.

The first deliveries of sections to Siemens Gamesa will begin in October.

Indeed, the Spanish group Navantia-Windar set up in 2020 on the port terminal dedicated to renewable marine energies, in particular for the construction of wind turbines dedicated to the Saint-Brieuc offshore park.
